Our Origin Story

In 2016, PAR Retail, originally known as Stuzo, began as a mobile application development company with a broad customer portfolio. As our success in the app development space grew, we saw an opportunity to narrow our focus to serve the convenience and fuel retail industry. Digital technology in this vertical was in the early stages, and we were ready to make an impact!

We first acquired Hatch, a leading loyalty and personalization technology company. By 2019 and 2020, we launched several new SaaS products to further streamline customer loyalty management, including our mobile payments solution, improved loyalty engine, and mobile app capabilities.

The year 2022 was an exciting growth period for us, as we began partnering with more of the best in the business to roll out leading customer loyalty rewards programs. That same year, we were on track to become one of the largest loyalty technology suppliers in the convenience and fuel retail industry.

In 2024, Stuzo was acquired by PAR Technology. By combining forces with PAR (and rebranding to PAR Retail), we’re now able to offer retailers even more ways to drive the business outcomes that matter. It’s everything you loved about Stuzo, but better.
